PYEONGCHANG 2018 ON THE FINISHING STRAIGHT: AUSTRIA HOUSE SERVES AGAIN AS A POPULAR MEETING POINT

Trade and industry delegations, leading companies involved in the ski industry and winter sports opinion leaders all came together at Austria House in Pyeongchang to engage in a networking event and nurture their business contacts. Axess was also on hand to make sure that admission and accreditation passed off smoothly and has even sent out its top management team to attend the games.
The Winter Olympics have produced tales of both a sporting and economic nature. Although the competitors have experienced both joy and misfortune, outcomes for business leaders have been largely positive. Austria House was able to tap into these successes to establish a number of valuable contacts and instigate a few new projects along the way. As had been the case at the 2016 summer games in Rio, the meeting held at Austria House became a vivid showcase for the Salzburg-based access management company Axess. Admission and accreditation took place via the firm’s latest product, the Axess CONTROLLER 600. This system features a state-of-the-art design and a large color display and provided a perfect aesthetic match for its surroundings. What’s more, everything is 100% made in Austria. The software is developed at Axess headquarters in Anif near Salzburg, and hardware and tickets are produced at the company’s own works in Innsbruck before being exported across the world. Customers appreciate the special level of quality they receive. At Austria House, for example, a version of the Axess Smart Gate NG boasting a double-sided wide range antenna and flap modules demonstrated a highly impressive degree of reliability. As expected, the meeting attracted a large crowd. Axess was, however, able to provide the Austrian Olympic Committee with sound support for accrediting guests. The company also had an opportunity to continue successful discussions with ski region operators from Japan, China, and Korea itself. European ski areas were also keen to find out about the innovative concept behind Axess REPORT SOLUTIONS 4.0, a multi-faceted system for effective resort management.
Gold for the Austria House
In 2018, the Austria House is offering gala evenings, network brunches, tourism workshops, medal celebrations and outdoor activities to its guests. At halftime, a total of 4,400 guests of honor were ushered in. These included the ex-UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon with the former President (AUT) Heinz Fischer, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein of Jordan, downhill Olympic champion Aksel Lund Svindal, Olympic slalom champion Frida Hansdotter and many more. Of course, the Austrian athletes also celebrated their achievements in the house. The guests especially appreciated the authentic flair and coziness, good food and wide variety of offers. Activities such as the Snow Volleyball Exhibition, reported by 40 TV stations, and the Bag Jump rounded off the package of events and helped the Austria House win Gold – a title it was awarded for Best Hospitality by the US magazine Sports Illustrated.
